Draft Master Plan

Our new draft Master Plan is now live and your feedback matters

Help shape the future of Birmingham Airport

Birmingham Airport is the Midlands' principal international airport, connecting people and businesses across the region with destinations around the world.

Our draft Master Plan sets out how the Airport could grow sustainably and responsibly up to 2041. It focuses on making better use of our existing runway and facilities, improving passenger experience and transport connections, as well as delivering wider benefits for local communities and the regional economy. There will be over £2 billion of investment at the Airport to deliver the facilities to accommodate approximately 30 million passengers per annum.

Our vision is to be the Midlands' gateway to the world, unlocking economic prosperity and opportunity through the sustainable development of our infrastructure; delivering exceptional connectivity for people, businesses, and communities.

Our updated Sustainability Strategy reaffirms our commitment to mitigating environmental and community impacts as well as identifying opportunities for how we develop and operate the Airport. The draft Master Plan is founded on this commitment, with collaboration and community engagement at its core, alongside consideration of carbon, noise, air quality, biodiversity, landscape, water and sustainable transport.

Have your say

We are consulting on this draft Master Plan which sets out a long-term vision for how the Airport could grow and evolve over the period to 2041.

We are seeking feedback from all stakeholders on the proposed vision, objectives and growth strategy, including how we can support connectivity, economic growth, sustainability and the needs of passengers, businesses and local communities.

As the Master Plan is still being developed, this is an opportunity for you to help shape its direction before it is finalised in early 2027.

Birmingham Airport processes personal data in accordance with UK data protection law. For details on how we use your information view our privacy notices here.

We are holding several consultation events for stakeholders and members of the community to come and speak with us and to find out more about the draft Master Plan.
