Papal Visit – No Public Viewing Area at Birmingham Airport

To avoid disappointment, we strongly advise people wishing to see The Pope not to come to Birmingham Airport on 19th September as the departure event will take place in a restricted zone, away from all public areas.

The events of the day, including the airport departure, will be televised on BBC2.

How can I change my car parking booking?

Your car parking booking can be changed by contacting our car parking partner NCP, either through the details on your confirmation email, the online booking process, or on 0845 050 7080.  Please have the booking reference from your original booking available if possible as this helps to track your order.

Where can I park my car?

We have a choice of car parks to suit your budget and travel plans -see car parking map.

For dropping-off passengers, use the 'Drop & Go' area immediately outside the terminal.  This costs £1 for 15 minutes.  Alternatively you can park for 15 minutes free in Long Stay 1, a short walk or bus ride from the terminal buildings.

For picking up passengers, use Short/Medium Stay 1,2 or 3.  These are located conveniently near the arrivals area and offer an option for slightly longer-term parking.

If you are travelling on business for a few days, we would recommend parking in Short/Medium Stay 1,2 or 3.  This car park can be pre-booked online or by phone, or alternatively you can just turn up and park.

We also offer a valet parking service, where you can drop-off your car with our dedicated team.  The vehicle is then stored securely until your return date, when it will be waiting for you when you step off your flight.

If you are travelling on holiday or for a longer period, the best value options are our long-stay surface car parks.  These are located a little further from the terminal, but are still within an easy walk.  A shuttle bus also links these car parks with the terminal.

Book on-site car parking

Off-site car parks offer another option, but these are located a considerable distance away from the airport, requiring a shuttle bus transfer - not a great prospect when you are tired and have just stepped off a flight!

Where is parking for blue badge holders?

The Blue Badge Scheme is an important service for people with severe mobility problems that enables badge holders to park close to where they need to go. The scheme operates throughout the UK, and is administered by local authorities who deal with applications and issue badges.

Blue badge holders are entitled to up to 60 minutes free parking within the Drop & Go area upon production of their blue badge and car parking ticket at the NCP customer services desk within the terminal building. Normal charges apply if the 60 minutes is exceeded.

What time should I arrive at the airport to check in?
